Happy Mothers Day to me.....

No, I am not officially a mom as Beanie hasn't yet made his official debut...but that didn't stop Matt from making me feel like today was all about me.

From the moment I woke up...I was showered with love and affection.

He took me for a morning drive.

A Mothers Day breakfast.

He took me shopping for a temporary replacement wedding ring as mine is getting tighter and tighter.

He brought me home for some afternoon delight.

Surprised me with a lovely card, flowers, and a package of oreos.

Then as a grand finale, he cuddled with me while we watched a movie of my choice.

I got to spend the entire day with him.....

AND I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!! :)

Weekend Summary

It's Sunday night and the weekend is coming to an end.

Weekend Highlights include:
An abrupt change in weather. Mother Nature must have been looking for something to do. Saturday was absolutely beautiful! We cleaned out our cars, played outside with the dogs, and even laid on the grass with nothing more than jeans and a tank top on. Sunday however, was another story in itself. We awoke Sunday morning to find that our beautiful Spring grass had been covered in cold cold... did I mention COLD snow! We quickly found ourselves at the coffee shop for some warm beverages. No worries though, I have faith that warm weather will come. So much in fact that I bought a cute little springy looking bag today.

Also, while at Target today, we purchased our very first item for the Beanie.

Our nephew has a shirt with the same saying on it. It always makes me smile!

On Saturday I went to dinner with my dad, Chelsea, and her family. We went to Red Robin. It was my first time, and I fell in love very quickly when I discovered that they serve ENDLESS FREE FRENCH FRIES!!!! For anyone who knows me, they know that I have a very close relationship with the french fry! Needless to say, by the time my veggie burger came, I had a hard time finishing it as I had filled up on 2 baskets of fries :).

Sunday ended with a bang. Our dryer decided to finally cross over to dryer heaven. I can't really complain since it was given to us for free almost 6 years ago. It's just that right now we are at the point where all of that time we spent paying off our debt and never replacing any of our already used appliances is catching up to us. We have a laundry list of items in need of replacement. It was sooner than we anticipated, but today the dryer decided to jump to the front of our priority list. Matt has spent a bunch of time researching dryers so that our replacement will (cross our fingers) last a long long time.

Well it's almost 10pm and way past my bedtime.

Good night!

Its a Boy!!!

ITS A BOY!

On April 1st, we did one of the most amazing things I've ever done.
We had our ultrasound!

I somewhat knew what to expect going in for the ultrasound.
However, the feelings I experienced when I seen the first image of our little Beanie, I had never anticipated.

It's one thing to be pregnant and know that there is a baby in there somewhere, but be able to peek inside and see actual images of our baby...all I can say is WOW.

I think having our ultrasound was by far one of the most exciting things I've ever done!!
I felt like I had just gotten off of the most awesome roller coaster ride when we walked out of there!

I was 18 weeks and 5 days.
Our Beanie measured 19 weeks and between 2 to 4 days.
According the radiologist...all looks very healthy!

Here are just a few of the ultrasound images...

I just love this image of his little feet!!

He is covering his face with his arm.
Look at that cute little ear!!
I love technology!

These flowers and eclairs (well what was left of them after I walked in) along with a hoops and yoyo card were waiting for me when I walked into the office following the ultrasound.

Thank you so so much to my wonderful work spouse Megan!

The flowers at home and in a vase.
They are so beautiful!
Especially since I am craving warm weather so badly
and these flowers just scream SPRING!

Life is Good...

August 2010

Matt and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary!
We took a few days off of work and rented a cabin near Salmon, Idaho.
We had such a wonderful time. We even pampered ourselves with a massage package.
I would love to post pictures. However, our computer recently crashed and I'm afraid they may have been lost :(.

October 2010

We became debt free!!!!!

It took almost 3 years but I am so proud of us!
Inspired by the teachings of Dave Ramsey, we were able to pay off all of our consumer debt, our vehicles, and OUR HOUSE!

The hardest part of working to become debt free? Waiting. Waiting for each paycheck to come (even though we never seen it as it went straight onto our debt). Waiting to see the number decrease little by little, month by month. Waiting was hands down the hardest part for me.

The best thing about becoming debt free? When payday comes, we get paid! Payday is no longer just "Exchange Day". It is such a great feeling!

I can't express how fortunate I feel to have a husband who shares the same goals in life as I do.

Two quotes that helped keep me on the right path:

"Live like no other so that you can live like no other"
-Dave Ramsey-

"Live simply"

- the decal I have hanging on my wall at home-

This video is a great explanation of how I feel.

December 2010

We found out we are going to have a BABY!!!!

We couldn't be more excited!

Here is my 14 week baby bump picture :)

Tomorrow will mark 16 weeks!!!
In only 3 weeks, we will get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl!!

I absolutely LOVE being pregnant!!!

When I am having a bad day, I look down at my growing belly and everything is instantly put back into prospective.

Due Date is August 27th, 2011!!!

August is my favorite month of the year!
It's also the month we were married!!

Also in December 2010

We made an addition to our family.

His name is Winston.
He is an 11 month old German Wirehaired Pointer.
He was bred by his owner to be a hunting dog. However, Winston is gun shy and therefore, he was of no use to his original owner.

With Gabe being 14 years old and not into playing anymore, we decided to get Sam a playmate.
This is where Winston comes in.

I won't lie, we have been spoiled when it comes to dogs. Winston has been a little bit more of a challenge than we were used to.
However, overall he is a wonderful dog with so much potential.
He stays right by your side on walks and doesn't try to run if you take him out of the yard.
He is learning commands really fast.

The most challenging thing about Winston is that although he is completely potty trained, he has a hard time holding his bladder for long periods of time (for example: while we are at work).
Although, I am not a fan of kennels, we are using one in attempt to teach him how to hold it. So far, its about 50/50 on whether its working or not.

We already love him so much. I just know he is going to be a fantastic dog.
I am really looking forward to taking him camping and backpacking!

A weekend with Little B

A few weeks ago, Matt and I got to spend the weekend with our nephew. He is growing up faster than I can keep track of. Looking forward to meeting his little sister in a few months!!

He is getting to be a pro and going up and down the stairs. I laugh every time he comes down the stairs.

Matt and the little guy playing their own version of Marko Polo.
