Sweet Dreams

Sleeping is most definitely a favorite past time for me. Here are a couple of sleepy family pics I found...

Fact#1: If you accidentally fall asleep in our house...you will have a cat attached to your hip within minutes...literally.

Fact #2: The dogs wont be far behind.

Yes...I really did fall asleep in that position, and yes I am in the kitchen closet. People think I'm kidding when I say I can sleep anywhere haha.

Stepbrothers

Too Corny? Or just Corny enough?
As much as I love Will Ferrell, when I first seen the trailer for the movie Stepbrothers, I thought "wow that looks Corny". But the other day I was watching some clips and laughed the tears right out of my eyes.



So... Date Night Movie, Dollar Flick, or Rental?

The Host

I just finished reading The Host. Loved it. Part if it may be due to the fact that I haven't taken the time to sit down and read a book for quite awhile now...but once I started, I couldn't put it down. I even packed it up on our last backpacking trip even though it was the hard back and weighed like 5 pounds. So to get to the point...I would totally recommend it.
Ps...is probably more of a chick book.

Grandeur Peak

Today we hiked Grandeur Peak. The goal was to reach the top for the sunrise.

Last night at about 10:30 pm:

Me: No worries.. of course I can watch another episode of Lost, I'll be able to wake up just fine.
Matt: Sweetie (Yeah, he really calls me that) Your gonna have a hard time if we don't get to bed soon.

This morning at 3 am:

Matt: Sweetie...time to get up. We gotta get going if you wanna see your sunrise.
Me: Noooooooooo!!!! I cant do it I cant do it I cant do it.

Let me tell you, when that alarm clock went off at 3:00 am, my body made it very clear that it didn't want to be anywhere but cozied up in bed. Regardless, I somehow managed to lead my zombie of a body to the car. We reached the trail head a little after 4:00 am. The weather for hiking was perfection, about 65 I think. I'm not much for hiking in the dark as I get dizzy from the headlamps flashing around Blair Witch Project style so I was happy when it was barely light enough that we could turn them off.

We made it just in time. The sunrise was supposed to be at 6:07 am and we reached the top at 6:04 am literally just in time to find a seat on our little top of the world and watch. It was beautiful. So was it worth it you ask? Of course. We made it back to the trail head a little after 8 am.

Breakfast at the Millcreek Cafe & Eggworks was good but the 2 hour nap on the couch when we got home was even better.

3 Day Weekends are Great

This last weekend was exactly what we needed. I'm convinced that there is no better way to clear your head and escape from reality than to spend it at one with nature. We backpacked up to Amethyst Meadow in the Uintas and relaxed in the middle of nothing short of breathtaking scenery.

Lagoon Day for Mr. Matts work
Finishing the second month of our financial diet.
Soon to come is our 3rd year anniversary...wow time flies.

Salsa Anyone?

Three years at attempting to create a vegetable garden and although its far from perfect, its never looked better. I am so excited to be able to pick produce from the back yard. What I need now is a yummy salsa recipe so if anyone know of one, give me a shout.
